I'm 20 should i be allowed to have a moped?

I'm staying with my grandma this summer and would like to get a moped rather than share a car with my brother because we both have full-time jobs. I'm 20 and think I am old enough to do this. My grandma says she would be worried and doesn't want it there. Should I respect this? I think it's important that I have a ride to work.
